Decom North Sea
Privacy Notice – L2P2
This document lets you know why we collect and process your personal data, what we do with it and what we use it for.
Decom North Sea (DNS) are the "Data Controller" of the personal data you provide to us. We only collect and process what we need in order to provide our services to you.
A primary purpose of DNS is to connect members through networking, events, collaborative opportunities and online activities, which involves the sharing of personal data directly with other members, but also externally on our website and through the media (social, press, etc).
The Late Life Planning Portal (known as "L2P2") is a publicly available portal that acts as an information source and opportunity to share valuable knowledge and lessons learned in the field of decommissioning, where individuals and companies can contribute to the knowledge portal by submitting case studies and information.
2.0 What Information We Collect and Why
The L2P2 website uses Google Analytics to analyse user information, however, the data collected is generic to identify country of origin, only. No personal data is collected or processed.
When an individual contributes to the portal, by submission of material or information, the name and contact details of the contributor is collected. There is an option to anonymise the contribution, so that personal data is not published with the content. All personal data is processed with the consent of the contributor.
3.0 What We Do With Your Data
Upon receipt of your submission, your personal data is retained securely electronically in our administrative database to allow for the content to be reviewed by our panel of subject matter experts. Approved contributions are published on the L2P2 portal and retained for a period of 3 years. Please note, however, that if the content is of relevance, it may be retained for longer than this period. You can request for the content to be removed, at any time.
Non-approved submissions are retained for 6 months to allow for feedback to be delivered. Again, if you would like us to stop processing this information, you can contact us at any time and we will act on your instructions appropriately.
We take steps to ensure the security of your information to prevent loss, misuse or unauthorised alteration or destruction.
Due to the multi-national nature of the Decommissioning Sector, information relating to the contents of the L2P2 website can be accessed from outside of the European Economic Area.
We review our administrative systems regularly to ensure accuracy and to prevent excessive or inappropriate retention of personal data.
